Long Arms and short pockets Weekend

I got close to breaking the Bank this weekend and made a few Sps purchases. I picked up a frag pack from Daceman and A few pieces from Greenwich Aquaria. Here are some Shots of my purchases. Sorry color is off due to me buying 10k bulbs but I am trying to overcome my mistake.

All and all. I like this hobby and love the way my tank is shaping up, I always thank indiviuals for their contribution but this time I would like to thank The actual Site. Thanks MR.

why do you say getting 10K's is a mistake?
do you have enough actinics to balance them?

it's hard to tell in the pics, but you might want to move the little clams
into the center to get more light.

For some reason even the 10K bulbs in his tank look very dim, it's possible the ballast just doesn't do a good job driving the de bulbs. i don't think it's a mistake with the 10k's because no other bulb is going to bring more white to his tank, he's probably thinking of going up in color temp and it's only going to make his tank dimmer, as for actinic supplements, his hood has 4 48" t5 bulbs i think so he has enough to balance out. As for the clam. it looks like it not getting enough light but it definitely is, it's completely out in the open.

I use Ic Gel if you need some contact josh he sells them that is his user name or I'm pretty sure he will Take some to the frag swap you can pick some up there.

It's not a mistake per say. 10k are supposed to give you better growth and tinting but when it comes to actually looking at your tank the 10k give off to much of a yellowish tint. I rather have a balance, so I will ride these bulbs out, but I will eventually move to 14k.

Only one of those is a true yellow and it seems a little green in the pictures. The reason being is my bulbs. I'm going to change my actinic balance to see if it helps.

I agree that I think your 10k's are giving off a yellowish tint.

And you like the powerheads going front to back? Any reason why as opposed to having some angled flow in there?
