Does anyone own a G7/G9, and can post some pics taken with either camera.I'm looking into picking one up and would like to get some opinions.

Cameras, etc.

I'm looking to pick up a nice camera myself. Has anyone ever considered a group buy for photo equipment? I'm sure places like J&R would entertain the idea. Anyone else interested? I wouldn't mind doing the legwork.

seen all the reviews and the photos from dp review to Cnet, what I am looking for is the opinion of someone who is using the camera regularly,a consumers point of view/photos.

Thanks Alex! just the Cayman gallery is with the G7. I am using the Canon WP-DC11 case and a single Inon D2000 strobe.

I put up some more samples here: http://www.flickr.com/gp/10038027@N04/20uK25

Overall I really like the G7. The only two complaints I can think of are 1) when shooting outside on a bright, cloudy day the sky tends to get overexposed easily and 2) the high ISOs are noisy (400 and higher).

www.dpreview.com is another great site for comparing cameras

I've got a G7. It's a great camera, and even has an aquarium mode. My only problem is that the macro doesn't get that close, but it's the best "point and shoot" style camera I've ever owned.

strendo-what is the aquarium mode? is that one of the custom settings that you have modified?

zahner-the noise is to be expected on some PS cameras. However the overexposure can be fixed.have you ever tried filters.I use a neutral density gradiant filter on my DSLR.what it does is allow the bright sky to be brought down in brightness a few f-stops thus allowing the sensor the ability to record the scene better with in the exposure settings..the filter is a square filter that gradually goes from clear to darker on top without changing the color of the scene, only brightness.most landscape photographers used them to better manipulate the films latitude. it works to a degree with digital without having to use the computer.
great shots by the way, sorry to ramble.

If you look there is a special aquarium mode.

On the videos does it record sound too? Couldn't find that on any of the sites
