I'm looking forward to the class. I'm definitely a beginner. I haven't had any formal photography training. Just a lot of photography magazines and what my father's taught me over the years. Right now, I'm using a Canon Digital Rebel. For tank shots, my Canon 100mm macro lens is usually my weapon of choice. My aquatic models are my maroon and pink skunk clownfish (separate tanks), my Smiths Fanged Blenny and a host of shrimp, crabs and corals. Here are a few samples of where I currently am in my photographic abilities:

Hi IslandCrow;
Nice photos!! Thanks for sharing them. I love your clown! They are one of my fav fish to shoot.
You say, you’re “definitely a beginner” eh? Good. You are in the right place. We’ll get you moving in a direction over the next few weeks that’ll have you creating better and better photos.
A 100mm lens is an awesome lens for most types of aquarium photography. And, your “aquatic models” sound like they’ll provide you with amply opportunity to spend / fritter away hours (and hours, and…) in front of your aquarium. We’ll be looking at a couple of ways you can expand your cast of models if you’d like a larger variety of photo subjects.
Type to ya later, Chris

Your photos are really great. My favorite is the mystery wrasse looking like he is trying to imitate a piece of macro algae. The closeup of the ricordias is very nice too.

Yeah, that wrasse was fun to photograph. He's definitely one of the most animated fish I've ever had and just loves the camera.
