we don't get to see too much of this guy but when we do, it's pretty cool.

the fire shrimp we have in there molted the other night. my daughters got a huge kick out of checking out the discarded shell as well as trying to find where he was hiding. it's pretty cool watching them enjoy the tanks so much and i'm looking forward to building the big one.

Is that a camel shrimp there in the first pic?

Peace,

I think Chip's right. It's a Camel Shrimp, not a Peppermint. Peppermint Shrimps aren't as white as Camel Shrimp and Camel Shrimp have a hump along their back and your shrimp has that hump.

I had one of those in my first nano reef..they are also known as
dancing shrimp. They like to feed on soft corals. Mine attacked
my mushrooms...also like to attack my snails. Ive never seen
one like that. He would hide in his cave and when a snail would
go by, he would come out and try to grab it. He was pretty
aggressive. Too many places mistakenly sell these as
peppermint shrimp.

How are you keeping the mandarin from starving to death in a nano? Looks like he's got ich too. Nice pics though, keep an eye on that shrimp.
