This is what happens when you leave a big monti cap too close to the sandbed when you have a diamond goby. He makes a House out of it! :eek:

If you can't tell in the pic, his house used to be a pretty good sized tan w/ purple polyp montipora cap. He buried most of it w/ sand and lives underneath it. It's just a brown cap so i let him have it. I am still getting growth on the parts that didn't get buried and die. Forgive the cloudiness, he was hard at work and i was watching him and decided to take a pic. Fascinating creature to watch.

had one and he decided that my rock towers were to straight,so he worked his @$$ off to make them lean alot :irked:,one day i got up to check in on the fish and he was gone,its been three months now,guess he jumped through the hole in my hood before my fans went in and got eaten by the cat.nice fish works the sand bed hard.

Engineer Gobies make diamonds and the other sand sifters look lazy. If they didn't have such an intricate and ever changing tunnel network I would have gotten rid of them by now. It's like the VC moved in and decided to move and then bury all my polyps on the sandbed....:mad:
