I've been getting this purple glow through color on all my actinic shots. I've had the same problem taking a picture of my hippo tang where the blue is replaced by this purple color. anyone know what to change to remove it or whats happening? I've switched every setting on every camera mode there is. I'm starting to hate my camera. Time for a new one. I know people probably don't have this camera but i'm sure the setting is linked with another on another camera. So anything people did to change theirs i could figure out on mine.

Camera is the Sony DSC-F828. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonydscf828/

Here is the actinic shot.

Set it to program mode (manual. not the little "one shot)

Go into white balance. (it might be a button that just said WB)

Try all the settings. Most likely there is
A or Auto.
Picture of a cloud. (cloudy)
Lightbulb (incandescent)
A long rectangle. (believe it or not it's a florescent bulb)
A long rectangle with an H (High output florescent)
? some kind of user setting. Here's how to set it.
Hit the Button for user WB. It should say something about 'take a pic to wb with.'

zoom the camera all the way in. (closeup)
Put it to manual focus and crank it all the way out of focus.

Take a picture of something 18% gray under tank lighting. Preferably in the tank and through the glass. What's 18% gray look like? EXACTLY like the top of a kodak 35mm film can. when you hold it close to a maxijet it's really close! so you can use a mj. I use the top since it's nice and flat.

When you take the pic for WB, try to fill the whole screen with the same shade of gray.

once it's done once, it should be good until you reset it.
