I took the picture with only my three 1-watt Luxeon Blue LEDs on. No actinic or daylight was on. I have three LEDs spaced 18" apart in my DIY hood on a 72" long 125G reef tank. The LEDs are programmed to go on with moonrise and off at moonset. I recently installed three 3/4 watt Red LEDs for looking at the tank at night without disturbing the inhabitants. It works good for watching but is very monochromatic. I use a programmable controller based control system with a Panelview touchscreen. I am an electrical engineer. I am thinking of marketing a"high end" control system like the one I have at home but I don't know how much interest, or sales exist. I am glad that you enjoyed the pictures!
Yes I run the blue LEDs for moonlight. Three 1 watt Luxeon stars, 460nm wavelength. I used a tripod and also took advantage of the self timer to minimize camera shake. Glad you enjoyed it. The blue light adds a nice effect. I installed some red LEds. You can watch the animals at night but appears monochromatic.
