it's cheap, has a great 10x zoom and manual controls, but if you are looking to take macro shots with a less expensive point and shoot camera, I don't think that is your best choice. dpreview.com is a great resource for comparing cameras. the macro focus range for that camera is listed as 12cm, I would personally look for something 5cm or lower.

also the sample images they have for that camera are pretty poor quality IMO.

I am happy with both my Canons, check out the SD or A-series.

I think you would do well with either of those; the S3 IS is a lot bigger and heavier though. I think someone here just bought one, have a look for the thread in the Photography forum.
The A710IS is pretty nice too, it has a bit more zoom than the A630 and also has Image Stablization.

dont waist ur money on crap that might brake.....Get a got profetional cam for like 300-500 bucks , the lenz can be upgraded later. I think its much more worth the money...Perdo knows more about this topic. He can give a great advice.
