Welcome to Reefs.org's April Photo Contest: AQUASCAPING!

Last month was a real toughie, so we thought we'd go easier on you this month. ;) There are two distinctly different ways to think about this contest, and both are equally acceptable...

  • 1. Beautiful aquascaping. Have you spent thousands of hours placing and re-placing each individual rock and coral in your tank so that it perfectly mimics a section of reef? Do you have the coolest caves or a forest of Tonga Branch? Well let's see it!

    2. Creative view of aquascaping This is for you 'photographically-artsy' types--show us a creative or different view of your aquascaping. Maybe a new angle, maybe creative lighting, who knows!
Even though there are two different approaches to this month's contest, BOTH are equally acceptable! :D

Note that you can also still submit photos of real reefs, not just rockwork in your tank. Nature can create some pretty fantastic aquascaping too!

This submission period ends on 12:00 AM EST Monday (Sunday/Monday midnight) April 26, 2004.

Prize
First place wins a $25 gift certificate, generously donated by Reefs.org's sponsor Marine Depot.

Please refer to the Contest Rules for more information about how to enter. Each member may submit up to 2 entries per contest. PLEASE remember not to put borders around your photos. Your photos will NOT be considered for the finalists if they have borders of any sort. You may put copyright notification on the photo itself, but please keep it small and unobtrusive.

Please submit your entry in this thread only. Photos not submitted to this thread will not be considered for the photo contest. Photos that have no relevance to this contest will be removed. General comments or posts without a photo attached will also be deleted from this thread. If you'd like to discuss the contest, please start another thread.

Opposite the Alhambra...

I found possibly the best example of how not to stack your live rock.

And the picture is in focus to boot!

Comment: My 75 gal. A snail climbed into my overflow while I was away on vacation. My wife called me in the Dominican Republic at 2 am, asking why there was water on the floor. After a one hour conference call with my wife and son (have you ever tried to explain the workings of, and how to restart, an overflow over the phone) all was well. I know its just a matter of time before disaster. Still, 5.7 years and counting.
