awilda use a tripod trust me... set the settings you prefer... i find the macro option works best for taking any pics with my POS digital... set the timer, set the position of the camera, set the settings u prefer press the picture button and step back :)...

getting better by the way... the one with the flash looks alot better then the other...

Soon as hubby finds the tripod, only he knows where he hid it:D. I have to read the book. Give me a little time I promise I'll get this.:banghead: I think :biglaugh:
Another thing is I've got tons of micro bubbles that I can't get rid of. Yes, I use filter socks.

getting better .seems like the tripod will work great

it looks as if when you are snapping the shot. The cam move slightly and the pic get blurry . If you cant find the tripod ,take 2 bucket ,putit on top of each other and use that for a tripod till you find the real one :) this should give you better pics too .So far you youre on the right track :)

OK, hubby found the tripod. But now I have to wait for evening so as not to get the window glare.
As you can see it is still grainy, I think it is the darn micro bubbles in the tank. arg

I think the grain in the pic is from the ISO being set to high.
Check the settings, or if it was set on auto the camera is choosing the high ISO. I find most tanks you can shoot at 200-400 ISO and avoid any graininess. try shooting with the camera set on AP (aperture priority) this will allow you to choose the aperture and control the depth of field (how much things are in focus from front to back) .
another tip is to keep the lens perfectly parallel to the front glass. if you shoot at an angle to the tank the glass will distort the light going to the lens and you end up with out of focus and distorted photos. straight on always works best. a bow tank makes this hard, but you'll have to deal with it :happysad:

Sure is! What I think is creating them is; there is a small openning in one of the joints in the plumbing. Not big enough for water to leak as long as the pump is running, but if I turn that one pump off then I have a tiny leak. My belief is that air is getting sucked in through there. I don't know how to fix it. So I have to learn to live with it.:frown:

Thanks Chief, I'll try that.

Another pic(actinics only), lets see how this one works out.:frown: Sorry, nothing I can do about the window. Will try and get pics at night for now on.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. Thanks Ronen, I humbly agree with you. I honestly cannot believe I have such a beautiful piece of live sitting in my livingroom. People I am not bragging, I just love it. I thank God every day for all my friends here on MR, and my husband. None of this would have been possible without all of you.:cheekkiss:hug:

AWWWWW  :lol2:

awi also check the flow in ur sump... it might be going to fast and ur microbubbles are just getting sucked up into ur return pump... u wont a slow flow through ur sump which will allow the bubbles to dissipate before it reaches the pump... ;).......

Thank you Tony!!
How do I do this? There are two overflows in my tank, and only one has a check valve. Or do I just dial the pump down?

well before you go and fix anything make sure thats ur problem... you would have to dial the flow down coming from the overflow and then dial ur pump down as well....

i had the same microbubble problem until i dialed down my overflow and return pump ;)...

I actually had gotten rid of the bubbles before by dialing down the return pump, but had to reverse it when I got the Torch. The torch wasn't getting enough flow. So I know it has something to do with that one pump. Also, loismustdie felt that it is that pin size hole in the one joint that is doing it.
Now to fix that pin hole I have to empty my 10g ATO reservoir, and get the tank out of the cabinet. Big PITA.:tired: And all of this while kneeling on knees that need surgery to begin with.:frown: But I'll get around to it.
