Nice Chip.

How did you prepare it for the internet? Cause the file size seems way to big for the viewing size and content.

It gets transferred the same as any photo I take, and it's imported directly as a .mov file in Quicktime format. This being said, and due to the fact that I don't know anything about messing with video files, I upload it directly as a raw file. It plays in any web browser with the latest Quicktime plug-in, so I've never had a problem with it.

Peace,

Ok.

Export the movie from quicktime as "from movie to quicktime". Click options. There will be several compressor options, depending on what is pon yuour computer. Play with them. The two most impeotant are a quality setting (which you can actually lower way more than seems to make sense), and 'prepare for internet streaming' set to fast start.

Fast start will allow people watching the movie to download and waych at the same time, while the compressor settings will shrink the file size, allowing it to be downloaded faster. I got it to 6 mg, down from 11.

Wow, it's that easy? Cool...I'll go ahead and give it a shot between projects here at work this morning, and see what I can do...

Thanks for the help.

Peace,

While we're on the subject, I'd like to know why I can play movies via Quicktime when I'm usine IE6, but not Opera 7.11. It's installed (or I wouldn't be able to get it up on my box at all, right?), so that's not the issue.

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated, though I can simply switch from one browser to another (but would prefer to save the time).

SM,

Try installing quicktime from the quicktime website in Opera. Might do the trick, might not. Big help I am...

Seamaiden,

You need the Quicktime plug-in for the Opera web browser, if such a thing exists. Just hop on over to the Quicktime website and see if they have it. If not, you're SOL, I'm afraid...

Peace,

Wow, you guys are cool. I did try installing Quicktime in the Opera browser, no go, even generated errors. Then Winders took over and closed it out (NO! I'm not going Linux! My brain, I have to preserve my brain). Btw, I onlly just discovered the frogfish vid (day before Fuzzy's link), Righty. You have a talent, my friend. Please send my regards to the wife and family, and give the wee bit a cuddle for us.

I have not thought of looking for a plug-in for Opera, I'll do that today.

Thanks!
