Sanjay, I have a 5700, and I am jealous of you, because I had to buy a 4500 for macros because the 5700 has even more tweaking needed since it's rated for 8x optical...hence less light getting through. I have mastered both cameras now, but the lower the optical zoom, the better the lighting/higher the shutter/ better the aperture/ etc. So I believe the 5000 is a great macro cam, just as good as the 4500, but with less zoom for better light. I have noticed the nikons to need good lighting. Flash can be used, but sometimes even on the lowest setting, it can wash-out colors. Finding extra lights seems to be the best answer. Nikons in the 5 series seem to have problems focusing in low light as well, but I did notice that my 5700 can fucus through glass otherwise ( in autofocus!!), a rare ability in a camera.
