That pic is gorgeous, Sharky...
The contrast of the various vibrant colors against the large dark backdrop is really powerful and interesting... eye-candy of the highest order.. nice work.. and keep it coming, my friend..
I played hockey all my life.. and I know that Indy has a long and respected history in the sport... Only a matter of time till your market lands an NHL franchise, in my opinion.. Many players' path to the NHL have come by way of Indianapolis..
I myself am a Devils fan.. and I think we are going all the way this year... GO DEVILS!

Thanks for the comments and complements, folks. I really didn't have much hope for this when I shot it, but when it came out on the monitor I was just staggered. hehe
I feel the same way about Indy and hockey--heck if raleigh-durham and columbus can get the media behind the sport enough to get the fans going nuts (and good gravy the fans for the canes and bj's are nuts), I would think Indy could pull off the same. Especially if we can finally get the colts to move away somewhere and get the pacers to stop being so anally overprotective of conseco fieldhouse (which is an NHL-calibre barn to be sure), we could draw a franchise. Maybe calgary...hmmmm. ;-)
Yeah, not many people know that gretzky actually played his rookie year in Indy!! It's hilarious, because at the Pepsi Col, it's actually the main auditorium on the state fairgrounds, so there are these banners for the such-and-such grand champion bull in 1967 or something, and then off in the corner is the banner for ol' number 99 with the old Indy Racers logo.
The Ice get about 8 or 9 games a season in Conseco fieldhouse, and it's really an amazing place. Being down on Ice-level and watching the players (from both teams) entering and leaving the ice, looking around at that state of the art facility, you can almost feel the awe and the hopes, because for many of them that's as close as they'll come to playing on an NHL rink. One of my goals for next season is to get a couple shots that catch that.
