Bmp???

How come when i tried to post pics to gallery, they come out looking like a postage stamp of the caribean with big letters ... BMP...typed across it?

then you have to click on the stamp and it brings up the picture. its an extra step that seems a nuisance.

i'm technically challenged with both the camera and the computer so its my wife that takes the photos and then loads them. but i'll make sure to pass along any suggestions

Not sure what you are doing.....:scratch:

Are you selecting the correct category?
Are the pics you are trying to upload BMP or JPG format?

neither are we!

never noticed options about uploading format. just trying to take photos from standard nikon digital camera and post them to gallery...and occasionally to forums.

wife says she uses "infra" to reduce resolution and thats about it.

bmp would be a bit mapped file.

how are you saving the files? jpeg is the norm.

By clicking the "Properties" I see that it is a BMP format.
Maybe when she is changing the resolution in Infra, it is being saved as a BMP format.
See if there is an option to save it a Jpg/Jpeg.

Try uploading the pic directly from the camera. Change the resolution there if you have to.
The camera saves as a Jpeg, so you should be fine from there.
