The word on RG is that EVERYBODY has Dendro's (right T ). So lets see them. Mine finally opened up during lights on today, so I'll start:

Actually, they are both "Dendros" as in belonging to the family Dendrophyllidae.... so I get to be both smarmy and correct at the same time

let me get this straight. Is a sun coral or sun polyps, dendrophyllia? And what is a Dendrophyllia fistula?

Sun polyps/coral are the common name for Tubastrea species. Dendrophyllia are different, but appear similar (much larger), Duncanopsammia and Turbinaria are also related... all of the above are in the Family Dendrophyllidae. The later 2 are photosythetic, the former are not.

The first one is the dendro with polyps retracted.
The second one is sun polyps with polyps retracted.
