After you learn teh basic functions of the camera - Check out this book

Very easy to understand boook how to expose a photo properly - with the advise in the book, you can really take any camera and take some awesome photos.. Good luck with the t3i! I would also recommend you pick up the canon 50mm 1.8 lens!
