The clams come from our exclusive supplier in Tahiti and we import them directly. They collect from several different islands in the area. It's really pretty amazing, depending on what island they've been collecting from for a given shipment you can see some differences in the basic shapes and overall coloration in the clams, just from island to island.

Sounds like darwin and his finches (or perhaps giant turtles) to me!

I moved the clam to another tank and it did mot make it.
I am afraid to buy another any time soon

They don't like being moved once they are in a tank for a while.

Next swap we should have our smaller cultured clams ready, they will be 2.5-3.5 inches.

I even found a clam shrimp in the clam...hope it made it without the clam.

Mine inexplicably closed up one day, deteriorated for a few more days then just up and died. :-(

+1...all my other clams are still doing fine

Mine was clearly mu fault..i moved it to another tank (that is always 1 degree cooler) without any acclimation, and the next day it's mouth was wide open, clearly unhappy.
