Doug those are juvi Fusiliers either the yellow tailed or yellow backed (Caesio teres or xanthonota) they look simular when small... members of the snapper family. I've seen them listed as purple headed also as they do....

They are rare Anthias. I don't remember the name or the cost but I made them very reasonable. Call the store and ask for Jason or Dave and they'll tell you the exact name and where they came from what country. I believe that they're on sale also. I'm not in the store today.

Thanks for the quick reply. The species that Doug was inquiring about the ID. I've had yellow back Fusiliers and they looked just like those. If they are a newly discovered species of Anthias I'm just curious what they are..... thanks again.

I'm sorry but I got involved with the Cichlid system as soon as I walked into work. They were sold over the weekend. But I'm expecting another couple of pairs this weekend. I'm very sorry but they sell very quickly.

Nice looking fish, but FYI most if not all of your Mauritian fish are not from Mauritius. Most are Pacific only species exported from PI or Indo ( watanabei, ventralis, the various fairy wrasses, Red Ruby's etc.). Origins matter to some customers given the varying collection and handling practices and some are willing to pay more accordingly.

Sorry about my tardy response. I started looking through my packing list of fish that we had brought in. I was so intent on getting all the new fish into stock that I made numerous mistakes in their region of origin. Much of the fault was both my ignorance of the region that they came from and my lack of experience on my part of not knowing the different species. I do appreciate that you've taken the time give me explanations about the different species and where they're from. In the future I certainly will make sure of their origin. If you in the future you happen to see errors that I made please bring it to my attention. I'm eager to learn all I can about this fascinating hobby. If per chance your anywhere near my store please stop in. I would be interested in asking you numerous questions so that I can learn more.
