AX Review

Went onsite today and met Ralph. Thought I'd give a quick 6 second review.

Disclaimer: They are still in the mix of setting up shop but what is currently setup says a lot. CLEAN setup. Beautiful cabinetry and tanks. Running on ATI 8bulb T5 Sunpower dimmables. I love me some T5s so I gave an extra +1 for personal brownie points.


Location: Great - close to empire casino so right off 87
Owner/staff: Only Ralph was there and seemed like a nice guy. Didn't get any negative vibes so left a positive view in my eyes.

Prices: No prices marked as of yet but prices were fair for the amazing coral you are getting. I believe for what I purchased it was an expected price. Luckily took advantage of the 20% off.

Selection: Again, a new store so I can't comment. The corals available looked great. SPS (deepwater, acros and sick colored millis), euphyllia (hammers, torches) and chalices.

Everything had great PE and everything looked very healthy. Basically, you know you know if it dies, it's because of your system not theirs.

Score: n/a

I can't score it at this time but I'll definitely be back. Hopefully, more frags when I get back!

When is grand opening ? Did Ralph the owner say that he will carry more SPS frags. Because this is what a lot of people want. It would not only be great but smart. Location is perfect next to my mother in laws. Less time there and more at AX.

Yeah, I am going mainly SPS and he mentioned bringing on more frag selection of sticks. From what it sounded like, people who actually came in bought more of his hammer selection. Beautiful colors.

I hope he sticks with the amazing SPS selection he had already with more taste of the rainbow colors in frags/mini colonies.

Because we were not 100% confident in
Our systems but seeing how all our corals
Have responded we are now sure we can
House our hi-end sticks with out worries..
This is just the beginning to what we expect
Will be nothing but the best quality live stock

Went to the new store today
Aquatic X-cellence and I have to say that it's about time we have a store in NY that knows what they are doing. The store looks amazing even though they are still building. The corals they have all look healthy and Ralph the owner is very polite and knowledgeable not only of corals but business in general. The customer service made me feel right at home lol.. Can't wait to go back.. I think I have found my permanent LFS

Was there AGAIN!! on saturday with my daughter...LOL.
Being so close to my home I'm starting to spend a lot of time there. I agree with JJflores, Ralph's customer service is grade A. Not only was he polite and fair in the prices but we had the pleasure of meeting his wife who gave us doughnuts and would have bought us pizza had we let her.

Def won my daughter over with the doughnuts and me with the Black and Yellow hammer. Cant wait for the fish system to be installed.

I went there today, Ralph and his helper were building cabinets. They opened up and I looked around. NICE corals. I walked out with 2 small SPS colonies. I like having more options because everybody seems to order a few different corals every place I go.
