Politics does corrupt, and there is a small percentage of the population that is considerably over represented in DC through that process.
They are also over represented in state houses. Pay to play and Citizens United have a disproportionately loud voice on the right wing.
The decisions that put the country where we are right now are hardly reflective of the will of the people.
But right now the will of the people is being blocked by greed and filibuster.
If both sides worked together instead of crying all the time, like some boner, real action would happen.
The narrative is a distraction, just like dancing with the stars. It is the opiate of the masses.

hawaii became a state 1959 barack obama born 1961 so he is not american lol

Only one problem with this theory, once the state became an American territory all it's inhabitants became Americans as well. Ask any Hawaiian born before '59 he'll show you an American passport.

PS: I think this thread is stupid no pun intended, doesn't America have more important things to worry about?

My tank holds water better than this BS.

I'm not a fan of Obama, but this sort of BS makes the liberal crowd look like a bunch of hippies who can't form a coherent argument.

Seriously. If you don't like the pres, find a platform and stop the BS already.

The first I have to say is it's a PDF, not an image nor a photo. I noticed objects in PDF do move around in viewing no matter you want it to or not. I can only say that the software is at work. Until someone proof it is done intentional by human beings, we should simply wait for the experts in the field to determine. My common sense logic says, "if it is so fake as claimed by the poster of the video, I would be surprised the Republicans are not already filing a charge or blast it over every chance they get on TV to pave for the election.

Anyway, "Does America and American have better to do?" YES WE DO! I foresee our economy won't turn around for many more years because our advanced stuff are slowly loosing their lead. We had automobiles, but BMW took over the streets while Honda and Toyota took over the families now. We used to have computers that beat out every other countries and the demand was so great that it made us wealthy then. We then had software monopoly that every other countries must get. Now it's saturated and they just become part of the business machines cost-it's no longer a surge of income for US. We have once huge lead in pharmaceuticals that US invented patent laws to protect them from being copied by other countries. US have Wall Street that lead the stock market world wide and increase our money flow dramatically but now, most major developed and developing countries have their own counter parts. Well, of course, for a while we had the money machine of bundled mortagage securities which created a big housing market and influx of foreign investment in the bonds for a while. It ran its course and collapsed. What do we have left that are more advanced than other competing countries? We have high techs in weaponry, but we cannot sell these weaponry like computers, software, drugs, securities certificates, nor trade market to the other countries. We need to improve products that other countries need and we can sell(of course don't improve on the internet sniffing technology to sell to other countries like those current customers in the Middle East.) We buy imports because we need them. We need to build something that other countries need.

We bombed any competitor in most industries during world war 2, so that gave america a huge edge for a long time, and they finally caught up. When was the last time an American car was really good? 60s?

I almost always only buy American if there is a possability that there is a product made in America. I read everything and if it is not American, I don't buy it. This does severly limit my buying. There is only one type of sneaker I can buy and not many cars. Almost no tools, very few choices of clothes and no electronics. But I try. I go on "Made in America.com" for a few things and when they stop building American cars, I will build it myself. When I go to a supermarket and all the grapes are grown in Chili, we don't eat grapes. If the fish is caught in Viet Nam, we don't eat fish. There is only one brand of honey made here, thats what I buy, It is a lot more money, but it is my choice. It's not easy but I am American and a Veteran, I just feel I try to do all I can to help "my" economy.
I have an electronic product for sale here and I have it built here in the States for tripple of what I could have it made in China. It doesn't matter as it is not about the money.
If we never bought foreign goods, all of those jobs would still be here.

Really for the past 10 years, no one said anything about these mfg jobs...

The jobs that are worth mentioning are the ones lost by this financial crisis. Many were much more higher paying than your typical factory worker...

Mfg jobs would be lost eventually through automation. Watch that show, HOw It's made, there's barely anyone working the floor making the products. Most are just watchign the machines.

I love conspiracies! They're so entertaining. They take a really good point and then mess it up with some completely out of left field conspiracy. Besides i saw Osama Bin Laden the other day on 75th and 1st driving a cab. The guy in front of him fighting him for the fare looked a lot like Tupac with a beard.

Offshoring manufacturing has been happening for over 20 years and the unemployment remained mostly flat. Global manufacturing actually helps everyone as it relates to the comparative advantage of the parties involved.
As a country develops it moves from the easy manufacturing industries and progresses into more complex industries. Compare India with Germany. Two countries rapidly growing in different labor markets.
What is happening here relates more to the CEO's loyalty to shareholders and not to employees. Squeezing every penny out of their labor force to shower on stockholders.
If they keep stock holders happy then they vote for huge salaries and bonuses.

I am sure financial jobs pay more than factory jobs, but factory workers have to eat also.
Here where I live in NY, especially in Manhattan there used to be factories all over the place. The entire west side used to be garment industry for miles. Then we had Singer sewing machines, electronic factories, Machinists and parts manufacturing for Grummen industries. Virtually all of that is gone and those buildings are lofts.
A few months ago National Geographic showed a factory in China that has 2,000 workers and all they do is manufacture artificial Christmas trees for the US. Those jobs used to be here.
Many people wake up to a clock radio made in Tunisia, get dressed in their Sri Lanka clothes, eat breakfast cereal grown in Chili, and get into a Japanese car to drive to the un-employment office and wonder why they have no job. :happysad:

I know, it's just me. But I can't help it.

And about Obama's birth certificate. I didn't vote for the guy but apparently most people did so I hope he does the right thing for the country and I will support him just because he is my President and I don't want my country falling apart. :usa1:
