yesterday I had the urge for a Burger from Jackson Hole Wyoming diner.
I didn't feel like driving to Manhattan (found out they have one in Englewood cliffs)
so I decided to make my own a full 10Oz before cooking my only regret no bacon!

topped off with Nathans fries

yes it was! my son Sal couldnt finish his and my neighbors kid said it was the best burger he ever ate

Jackson Hole on 64th is one of the best burger places ever. I used to live a few blocks away and by the time I was 2 I was polishing off entire burgers. Almost never get to go in there anymore but Nick (the owner) still remembers me and my family by name, love that place. I think they use unicorn meat for the burgers because I have never been able to reproduce it lol.

I came pretty close to reproducing it 80% lean chop meat mixed with a little bit of Worcestershire sauce made for a real juicy burger.
I too have gone to the one on 64th it was a short walk from the river used to call and order it bow up to the sea wall and run up the block! the good ole days

They actually use Ground Skirt Steak mixed with 80-20 ground beef. Or so I have Heard.

I had a burger at the jackson hole in bayside on bell blvd and it was disgusting it was like a lump of crap it was dry and had no flavor. I never went back there again. It was disappointing because people always talk about that place. Honestly I think the best burgers are at CHECKERS. You cannot compare them to anything. I love a good diner burger but those checkers ones are just friggin awesome. Top it off w/ those seasoned cheese fries or if you really wanna be a pig get the fully loaded ones w/ the bacon and ranch also. They have great chicken sandwiches also and always good deals..2 for 3, 2 for 4. You can't beat it.

You long island and staten island people know what I'm talkin about.

Jackson Hole is a common name for burger joints for some reason. You have to go to the one on 64th. If you are a real carnivore, it's amazing. If you still like checkers after trying their's than there may be no hope for you.

so what type of beef did you use ? i ask because i grew up in farmland and my uncle's raised cattle, i laugh when i see store's and rest, list stuff as black angus, all angus are black, my uncles raised angus and Hereford's. which was nice because we kept a deep freezer full of beeef

80/20 from local butcher here in sussex county, shoprite in warwick is pretty good they will ground up anything you want as long as you pay for it

I can't bring myself to do it but I'd imagine a rib eye ground up as a burger and grilled right would be a religious experience.

Checkers is LOW GRADE even for fast food.
IMO Donovans on Bell Blvd. in Bayside has a really good reasonably priced burger.
