Avast, avg, clamav, n quite a few I can't remember. Do a search on free antivirus on google. They all work well.

I use AVG, Malwarebytes' Anti Malware, and used to use SpyBot

funny way about how I found out about AVG. My computer had a virus and so I called up my computer's company asking for help. Only way they could help was to send someone over and I had to pay for the service. I said no and so the representative was really nice to me and whispered in the phone "write this down. A-V-G. download that and it should work."

I tried downloading AVG. One site is www.avg.com that has the internet security to buy without the free version. The other site is http://free.avg.com that has the free antivirus. Whats legit and whats not? sigh.

Both are legit, AVG has a pay version that they'd like you to buy with added features not included in the free version.

I dont claim to be a computer expert but my It guy who does all my support said the new windows 7 antivirus is quite good. He said it finnally is up to par.

AVG seems to be the most popular choice among free AV's but I kind of lost faith in them after they had that huge bug that caused system critical files to be deleted.

I use Eset NOD32 antiv. ver 4. if small and fast, and can get a pretty decent deal on newegg.com.

I used PANDA antivirus for the last 7 years and my new computer came with norton and I must admit I like better than panda and FYI it only cost $50 for the 2011 norton global antivirus protection. For up to 3 PC's
