I'm Looking For a vacation spot. i have vacation days set for
June 1st [wednesday] Through June 8th [Wednesday]

This year we decided we would like to go to go to an island, somewhere tropical. Affordable, but not cheap. All inclusive would be a plus but not necessary.

I though it would be cool if people could post places they have visited if they thought it was nice and would recommend it too others.

Tell me about the Location, The hotel, and what you would have done if you would go back to that location. ie: went to a different nearby hotel etc

Been Researching for days on trip advisor and will continue.

Mexico,Aruba,DR,Costa Rica, ST thomas, ETC

Let me know!

This past July I went to Mexico for my Honeymoon. The resort was Excellence Playa Mujeres (all inclusive), and worth every penny. It was amazing. It's about 30min north of Cancun. We did leave the resort one day and take a cab to a ferry and go to isla mujeres, which you can see of the coast from the resort. Did some snorkling there and rented a moped to get around the island. Pm me if you have any other questions.

My wife and I went to Aruba for our Honeymoon this past September. It was beautiful. We stayed at the Occidental on the NW side of the island. It was an all-inclusive. Great place.

Belize (I've heard) is nice as well, and I think it has a large natural coral reef. Always a plus.

My all time favorite was the British vergin islands. Relaxation, neon blue crystal clear water, snorkeling. They rent catamarans or whatever the are called. Amazing. The best vacation I've ever been on.

Australia is another top one...

Do you have a name of a resort I can check out?

Was looking into peters island at one point but it's going to be a little out of my league. Was like upwards of 600+ with meal plan a night...friends said do not go without doing meal plan super super expensive.

Looking to do a 6 nighter.

If you want to go to Aruba let me know. My uncle owns a travel agency that only does Aruba trips.

Stayed in the Radisson in Aruba. Little pricy normally but you can always find a good deal if you look ahead of time. For the price difference in hotels, I would spend the few extra $$ and stay at either the radisson, occidental or some of the other Palm beach hotels, maybe Riu but its not my style. Forgot how much we payed but I think it was around 1100-1400 for 6 days all inclusive in the Radisson like 4 years ago.

We also really liked St. Thomas and St. Johns. We visited the islands twice without staying so I can't give you any hotel advice.

Also, for something non island related, ever think about a Napa Valley trip? We stayed for a week in Calistoga in july and loved it. Did food and wine for the 6 days. The food everywhere was unbelievable. Next trip we are planning on going back and doing the coast for a few days and then heading to napa/sanoma to finish off the trip which is surprising because my wife is a BIG beach/tropical island person but prefers to go back to Cali.

We stayed at the RIU in the Bahamas. It is right next door to the Atlantis, and it was all inclusive. There are 4 or 5 gourmet restaurants that were decent, plus the buffet. Drinks were good, and the hotel is right on the beach. I would defi stay there again. the Service was good. We also had access to walk around the Atlantis. You had to pay for day passes to their pools and such, but we just got a day pass for the aquarium.

My main complaint was the amount of people selling things on the beach, but I think you get that at most places.

Overall, our experience was great there. We were able to cruise around the Atlantis (casino) and we were only a taxi cab ride away from downtown. We hit the clubs in the Atlantis (which were super expensive but fun) after pre-gaming at the RIU and had a great time.
