Great Tank Cleaners Washed Ashore

Taking a walk early in the morning last week at Mission Bay, San Diego and came across these prehistoric looking things! I believe they are giant trochus snails (feel free to chime in otherwise)...how about that! The ones that had what looked like "meat" in them I tossed back...figured it was worth a shot :inlove:

I think they were alive...couldn't tell if they were moving, but clear liquid came out and according to Bear Grylls that is good eats lol
And I saw a total of 6 on the beach but this was the only couple.

Only time I recall seeing these guys on tv was when man woman wild had an episode in the south pacific. It was great seeing the cool sponges and beautiful corraline on these prehistoric looking snails!
