That group is a way out of control. The japan whalers are showing lots of patience not sinking the other boats as well.whaling for them is huge money, almost worth the trouble they will face with another sinking of harassing vessels.Lucky no one was killed by the collision at sea. This year should be good.Lets see you dares the whalers to hit them again... Bad idea for all involved
The Orginization has flawed management, but Whaling needs to stop. They are right in trying to end the practice. I am just shocked that people in Japan allow this to continue. After seeing the cove, I think it is disgusting that people go to dolphin shows then eat dolphin meat in the cafeteria. Thats like going to the zoo and having a tiger burger.
I enjoy an occasional rodeo, but I'm not about to stop eating cheese burgers.
They sea shepherd people are a bunch of insolent children turned terrorists. The guy in this article is now disillusioned because the thugs he chose to get involved with have turned out to be not such nice people....really.
The Japanese are showing way too much restraint with the Sea Shepherd and should arrest the whole bunch of them. Whaling might be wrong, but putting people's lives in danger is over the line.
yea...whaling is horrible and wrong, but these guys are sea terrorists in my opinion...i'd like to see them and their marshall law in NYC...but man do they have nice boats from good funding from Martin Sheen and the likes!
Whaling is horrible- but so is shark fishing to cut of their fins for shark fin soup, yet another Japanese delicassy as well as the whole blood dolphin thing- I honestly couldnt even bring myself to watch that one.
The worst thing in my opinion is that Animal Planet keeps that show on the air-
Guaranteed theyre getting paid for each episode due to the high ratings- just like MTV and the Jersey Shore idiots get paid out the whazoo for their episodes.
Animal Planet should take the show off the air and leave the monetary compensation to the radical activists and hollywood weirdos such as Bob Barker and others that support them.
After all- these celebs are the same ones adopting babies from 3rd world nations which is fine but how about they put the same amount of money and concern into helping kids in this country that are in foster care or homeless.
Bob Barker donated $5 million for an old decrepid ship for them to fix up and use. How about finding some missions in major cities and donate that same amount of money to them to help the homeless living in them, especially the ones with serious health problems living in there and just basically and quite literally rotting away with their health decomposing?
We had a mission where my old fire company used to respond to and whenever we got a call their and had to go to the 5th floor we put rubber gloves on under our firefighting gloves because it was the floor dealing with HIV patients that were left homeless- I got to talking to one of them and he had been in a blue collar job and had a home in Queens- then as the disease(HIV) progressed and his health care wouldnt cover much of the overall cost he lost his house and then lost his job as he got sicker. He wound up in that mission and jobless so he was literally just laying in bed on the 5th floor waiting to pass away.
How bout helping people like him and others?
Plus the public seems to forget that Paul Watson was kicked out of Greenpeace for being to extreme in his tactics, yet he cries innocent, victimized sheep. I found it especially sheepish and unbelieveably silly that he claimed that he got shot by a sniper on the japanese ship and his little tin foil badge stopped the bullet.....PLEEEEEASE! He watched one too many westerns where the sheriffs flask stopped the bullet and saved his life during his duel with the outlaw.
Whaling is sick and needs to stop. I have a very low regard for the Japanese government because they let these practices continue. Whaling, shark finning and dolphin slaughters are barbaric.
I also think the US government is barbaric to abandon it's citizens in their times of need. I don't think citizens should be donating money to care for these people, the government should be funding programs to care for their citizens. Like they do in every other industrialized nation, except this one.
