Did anyone get out to the beach today?

I was at Nickerson (love that beach) today and the waves were incredible. In the four years I've been going to local beaches, this year has definitely been the best for waves.

I must agree about the waves this year, they have been abundant! Most likey due to all of the wind we've had. This is by far the windiest summer I have seen in 10 years, lots of systems going by in the Atlantic causing onshore waves/wind.

Nice. I've been to Riis Park on Friday, the weaves were incredible. Can I ask you how much is to park at Nickerson Beach

It's expensive if you're not a Nassau County Resident. You have to buy a leisure pass (I think it's $80 for three years? I don't remember exactly) but that gets your entire car in the parking lot for $8. That's not bad.

If you don't have a leisure pass, it's $30 for a car. Now, if you have a van full of buddies, it's not bad per person, but if it's just a few people..
