Steel wool fireworks

Any of you guys use steel wool for fireworks? I have been doing this all of my life, this is about 25 cents worth of steel wool on a string.
I know, not the best thing you ever saw, but the best thing for 25 cents.
This was yesterday at a friends beach house out east on the Long Island Sound.

As an added bonus, you can hook one up to a car battery and use it for interrogation.

if you have a car battery and cables, do you really need the steel wool at that point?
