Motorola Droid X

My contract puts me up for a new phone at the same to as you I think..August? I was hoping Verizon was going to get the Iphone (oh well) but the Droids do seem to be pretty cool.
Currently I have the BB Storm which I passionately despise and look forward to replacing the day I'm eligible.

Have you considered the Incredible?

well as u all know...im a phone freak lol. so of course i know the rumors and inside stories on it.

want my quick opinion on it? honestly...i dont know what is going on with phones anymore. i just dont get it. why on earth would you want a phone THAT BIG! this all started with the HD2 being 4.3 inch screen. then the evo 4g came out with the same 4.3 inch, now the droid X is going to be 4.4 inch! im sorry but the phones are turning into portible lab tops. pretty soon netbooks are going to be considered flip phones. the htc incredible (i currently own) is the prefect maximum size phone being 3.7 inch. now that sounds small, but thats because these new phones are crazy large. the htc incredible is actually quite large. have u seen it yet as in held it? its decent size. now add almost an inch to it. an inch is not much, but for a phone! yes, thats big. its litterly getting close to the width of your palm. take a look at your hand. theres your phone if u buy one of theses new ones.

anyway, becides size, the phone is the same phone as the evo g4...just not 4g. but who cares, 4g is not that impressive compared to 3g. 3g is honestly plenty. its also the same as the htc incredible, except with motoblur and swype built in...and the size. 8mp camera, 854x480 resolution, android 2.1, 1GHz prosessor. also, this phone has buttons on the front, not heat pressure buttons like most smart phones, and also has a button to open the camera/camcorder. but already there are complaints from companies saying its a stiff button and you cannot take still pics.

to sum it up, your buying a htc incredible with front click buttons, camera buttons, and ran over by a truck and flattened out to be huge.

i love the htc incredible, trust me, you will too. i reccomend that very highly. very shortly the incredible will be price dropping already. the incredible has everything you could ever need on a phone and more. forget the iphone, blackberries, palms, evo, i have owned them all. nothing compares to the htc incredible.

and finally, the droid X is motorola. not HTC. HTC is currently the king of cell phones. motorola cannot compare. sorry motorola, but you can suck it. the origional droid i was not a fan of. i probably wont like the droid X as well. and the droid has only been out several months now. already being replaced? hmm... if anything the droid ERIS was a much better phone. most likely because it was HTC verison of a droid.

but thats only my opinion. you may love big phones. i dont know. thats just my say. if you do want more info on the phone i would be glad to tell you about it if your seriously interested in it. here are 2 quick links about the phone.

Thanks ryan for all that info. I agree its a bit big but one article said its better then the incredible so i just wanna do my research before purchasing one (which is good since i have tons of time).

? i dont see how. its the same version android, same snap dragon processor, same amoled screen. just larger. everyone of course will have there own opinion. when it comes out, take a drive down and play with it. you have 30 days i believe to like it, after that your paying the full 600 bucks to buy the other if u want to switch...so choose wisly! after june 23 ill have alot more info on this phone to tell you about and will be sure to keep u posted :biggrin:

That phone is beast it 1inch bigger screen then the i phone but i like a big screen. wait there making daul core 1.5 snap dragon processor now . You now how fast the phone will be know cant wait.

If you didnt preorder I wouldnt bother going to the store on Thursday. If you preorder now the earliest you can get it is July 12.

If i were a verizon customer I would choose HTC over Motorola. Every motorola phone I have owned has been junk. They may have improved quality recently, but I've been burned by crappy motos too many times.
