I currently drive a 98 accord. It's nice, practical, great everyday driver. But i want something with a lil more pop. I was considering a Mitsubishi Evo. Overall is this a good car? maintenance ? ALL opinions welcomed

i have an evo right now....trust me its an amazing car. and if you put money in it....ha. i can sit there and tell you all you need to know about evos, but make sure you think good about it. blowing 20g+ on a used car....probably distroyed and kicked the crap outta. great car...and i had my fun with it... and im selling it. not practical enough for me. i need something with more space so im looking for a srt8 grand cherokee right now. make sure whatever you pick either a sti, evo, anything in that catigory, find out EVERYTHING about the origional owners. and honestly if your looking to pay that much you can get a brand new car that range thats nice and sporty. v6 challenger, v6 mustang, the genesis...maybe even a new honda if you like them. just remember...think about it. im happy i had my fun but im done. if you def. want one though...like i said...mines for sale! lol

I did a clutch in an evo 8 what a nightmare. i do love the car tho that motor was ranked the second most bullet proof out of the import realm. looseing to the supra. its got great power from a little 4 banger tuner parts are endless, and that motors been around since the early 90's with very little changes. great bang for the buck, IF you can find one that hasnt been beatin or melested.

wow an evo or sti as a daily? Why not save money and go with just a wrx? Insurance is way cheaper and you can always mod it to make it faster than a evo or sti.... :p

It wont be a daily driver, but maybe like a frag picker-upper once a week, and a fri, sat, sun , so 4-5 days outta the week

Just some things to consider is insurance pending age and previous driving history on ANY turbo car is a small fortune in itself. Then on top of of that you now need to use 93 Octane gas vs 87 and your going to want to use high end Synthetic oil, there is a lot to think about.

agree completely. if you have a new clutch in the evo your going to have no issues...just dont try it yourself cause my buddies and i learned the hard way lol. you might think you know how to do a clutch until you do an evo. watta nightmare.... but the evo is still a great strong built car. ive had the car for maybe 2 years now and only issue i EVER had was the clutch, but that was my own stupidity of burning it up...:wink1:

im no sti person, but ill tell you what most people with an sti that drove my car wished they had the evo. you throw a new fuel pump, headers, ic pipes, bov and exhaust...tune it up a bit and the car is stupid fast. id sugguest also go for the 6 speed, not 5. thats the only sad decision i made with it. stick with the 05-06 years and your good to go! and if its not a daily driver and only using it to have fun on a few days then your going to love it!

and also just to add, im 21 and insurance is not that bad as you think
