on Mott and Canal. right behind the bank. there is a big seafood place. or on Mott on the side towards little italy. place is on your left side. just walk around chinatown and you'll see a bunch. just look for big resturants. the small resturants wont have it.

in manhattan chinatown, try Gum Fung. it is on east side of Elizabeth Street just south of Canal Street (across from the police precinct). it is a pretty big place, you'll know it is the right place since is has a huge escalator going up to the restaurant. Golden Unicorn is a popular place too, but I like Gum Fung better.

There is a Gum Fung in Flushing also, I think the Flushing one is even better than the NYC one

I had good dim sum at a place on the bowery called Golden bridge, just below canal.
Its huge, just like the Yum cha places in Sydney.

Besides Chinatown, you can always go to Ollie's (There are a few in the city) They have both traditional and non-traditional dimsum and plates. I particularly like their shrimp rolls (wrapped in seaweed and stuffed with shrimp!) and I love their soups.

I personally like going traditional most of the time and absolutely HATE "American Chinese food" (The stuff they sell everywhere that is bad for you), but Ollie's is pretty good.
