do it. we didn't have that choice when our children were born.
put the scientific aspect aside...look at it psychologically, it's a piece of mind you're buying. it's kinda like life insurance. you hope you'll never need it, but by the slim chance that it could possibly somehow be beneficial to your family, you will at least have that chance. i'll buy a piece of mind for 2g any day.
i would also jump on the bandwagon by saying...we dropped 2g's on the tank without blinking so this is nothing. and 125 a year?!?!....can't even buy you a year supply of fish food....lol.
plus you mentioned that your wife wanted it.....that's a good enough reason for me. don't think to much into it....just do it.

its 2k up front and then 1250k a year after that so its not just 2k.. like I said I have 4 kids myself if I did it thats 8k up front and then 6k a year for the rest of the life of the blood which no one knows how or when or where it all goes and anything else.. Its just like LED lights in this hobby no to much known about it but I giving them a try... I have a bunch of questions about this but Im not going to ask all of them but just this 1 If your mother in law has MS and you saved your kids core blood how does it help her is this blood cant help your other kids? Im not here to fight It just my thoughts..

Viacord and CBR have luncheons or dinners that you can go to and hear them lecture on the subject. The give valuable information.

Me and my husband did it, CBR for the first and Viacord for the second. They cost pretty much the same. THe biggest difference in price is that if you get a friend to save cordblood for their child you get $25 or $50 credit with Viacord and I think $100 or $125 credit with CBR.

To us we didnt care of the price bc God forbid something happens and we didnt save it we will be blaming ourselves for the rest of our lives. WIth every passing year there is something else cordblood is treating. In the end if we need it for our child or family member thank goodness we saved it, if we dont need I will still think its the best money we spent for peace of mind.

It's a good choice, but a personal one. don't get caught in the " i should have done it crowd", the documentation is there so that you can make an informed decision.
It's a good choice should it be needed. It's a "what if" gamble,we did it. As parents, we would do anything, go anywhere, and protect to no bounds those wonderful little crumb snatchers we call our children.
