I was wondering how many people have had success giving their dog or cat Glucosamine to control arthritis? I'm beginning to give my cat Cosequin. I read a lot of online reviews but wanted to get some first hand experience from people I knew.
I've used it for my dog when he was still around. It works well. You have to be on top of it. Try not to miss any days on it. It's almost like night and day.
I raised my dogs on food that contained glucosamin starting with my roties. Can't say wether it helped or not. My female did end up with Hip Dysplasia, but at 12 years old. From what I understand that was pretty good.
My ex gf had a cattleland sheepdog, and at 8 or so had horrible arthritis. They tried everything, finally went to a hollistic vet and they recommended glucosamine. Like stated it was night and day. Running around, up and down stairs no problem. They actually started seeing problems again a few months ago, but he was around 13 or 14. It made a huge difference in his life. Id say try it! Did you ask your vet?
You should ask my dog this question. He gives it to his master (swimmer) and from what I can tell, glucosamine is a magic elixir. Helped my old and decrepit joints. I don't see why it wouldn't help our furry friends.
