I would rather watch myth busters, this whole reality show craze is depressing. Besides watching the news occasionally I watch TV to escape reality not get more wrapped up in it!

The funny thing is most of those people had to be imported to Jersey. I think it's the car accident syndrome, no matter how terrible it could be you have to look and thus traffic is born. I love the science shows too, but if you think about it, there's not much difference between national geographic filming some aboriginal tribe doing their "GTL" and these clowns. They just turn on the camera and people go about their business. I'm not defending the show I wouldn't miss it if it never was on again but it is somewhat amusing if you take it for what it is, a bunch of dbags being dbags for the camera.

I love to watch Bio, myth busters the scinece channel and Discovery, even dirty jobs.
But I could not turn off jersey shore. It was a train wreak, almost cringe TV for me. I can not stand those reality shows, my wife loves all those real world crap, but hated Jersey shore.
Fist pumping all the way.
Jwow was a hot mess but boy that?s the kind of girl I could party with. Anyone talks trash, you could send her in like an attack dog. Ronni was funny and so was that pauly D.
Don?t judge me, it?s a guilty pleasure.

Documentaries are reality television, jersey shore represents the classless end of the spectrum. It is MTV warping the brains of more young people, although if anybody wants to look like an overtanned hobbit I guess that is there choice. Discovery and history channel for me!!

I would agree with you on your statement but you stated that jersey shore represents the classless end of the spectrum.
If you watch the show, every time a fight broke out it was usually instigated by some ignorant buffoon yelling ?go back to New York or where you came from?. Being born and raised on the shore, I know what its like dealing with the ? BENNY?. At the same time what does it say about the class of people who feel compelled to yell and scream expletives at visitors?
We take our nieces and nephews to Lancaster PA, Disney in Florida and I have never had anyone yell and scream for me to leave.
What?s the difference in tourism?
I?m also Italian and I did not feel ashamed or angered by what these kids or Mtv was doing or what others felt they were trying to portray.
These kids and Mtv were only representing themselves. All the controversy was what caught my attention.
Was/is this Mtv trying to warp the minds of viewers? I doubt it.
I will always revert to ?it?s the parents responsibility to police their children?s viewing habits and what they are watching.
If parents are that disinterested in what their children are watching and allow Tv to be the baby sitter, then shame on them.
My nieces and nephews are not allowed to watch certain programs set fourth by their parents. Me and wife as the chaperons when they are with us enforce the rules.
You said it yourself, ?although if anybody wants to look like an overtanned hobbit I guess that is there choice.?
It is, no matter how much you or I may disagree, its their choice. It did not represent me or my family.
After watching the show from a birds eye view, I learned people from NJ can be pretty rude.
