Im sitting here writing a 20 page research paper (lucky me), when all of a sudden my dog(his name IS lucky) starts barking softly and having what seems to me doggy REM sleep. or me having a human-y wet dream;), anyway...

Ive always wondered what their dreaming about, and if he in fact is "dreaming". Hmmmm weird....I think so

any insight?

Im sure they dream.Im not a vet.But since they do have feeling and think. Also is a living soul .SO its good to say yup,JMO
I would hope to think that they just dont close their eyes and wake up in the morning.that would be boring

fart?! my dog dies a lil bit every time he releases his sphincter I tell you! YUCKKK

The thing is that alot of scientists say dogs cant think, at least not in the way a basic human does, its more about instinct and learned behaviors w/ rewards. Then theres the animals dont have souls thing

but I mean, doesnt it take a more evolved brain (than a worm for instance) to dream? isnt dreaming just *thinking* while your sleeping? I see REM (rapid eye movement) theres defintely some brain synapses at work.

I guess the philosophic :D;) question is....are certain human characteristics only unique to humans?

or maybe the question is should Andres take a break from studying?

hmmmmm.....

they have the ablility to dream, its a function of the brain. However the question is more along the lines of, are they aware they are dreaming? Like pointed out before , most if not all animals rely on instincts and behavior patterns. What they dream about? most likely eating my 100$ diesel shoes  damn my dog! she has such expensive taste. haha

I bet they dream about hot bitches

Literally!

I guess it would be pretty cool if you could tap into their brain and see their dream on your comp. screen

IMO dogs are able to dream, and I think there are some dogs that have the brain power of at least of a toddler or more.

Affection based, they take the cake, no matter how crappy your day is, or if everyone hates you, or what you do, they always think your the best thing that ever happened

no wonder Bush has a dog! :banghead:

Hahaha....They're dreaming about walking us around, watching us lick ourselves, and sniffing each others' butts.

my dogs dream and they think too! my bitches are very smart! my shepard knows to move the chair to my counter, jump up and sit like she's one of us expecting to get fed. like people some are smarter than others, far from being "dumb" animals
