Yes, my rent for a 2 bedroom with a very large balcony, living room, etc, is $1520/month. But I live about 30 minutes from the heart of Sydney. As you get closer to the city the rents increase (just like NYC).

If you are willing to pay more in my area, the places you can rent are unbelievable. Since I wasn't sure how long it may take to find a job, we decided to be initially conservative.

I am visiting Hawaii now, and since I see that this is in "reach," Australia is now on my to-do list instead of my wish list...

I'm looking forward to the pics you will post. Are you allowed to have a reef tank in Australia? (here in Hawaii, folks can't keep corals...)
