hey i was just wondering if we can get enough people together if some members would want to go do some local collecting.i was thinking sometime in may.i dont know of a good spot for local collection but i would like to do it in long island.just write here that u are intersted and maybe a good spot and we can get something together sometime in may. :birthday: .figured also we can bring our kids and spouses as well as food and drinks and make it a day. :givebeer:

If it is on the weekend, I cant make it, but I do know a good spot.
Port washington, on plandome road.
I work at a club on the bay and go collecting often in the summer.
You can collect amphipods, grass shrimp, all different kinds of small fish, minnows etc.
There is a great grassy, marshy area, right across from the science museum.

If you ever go on a monday or tuesday, I would love to tag along.
I can borrow a boat most of the time from work

What are you going to collect?
I do collect on long island but only in late aug and sept. I go to Robert Moses sore thumb. I have a 20ft drag net which I cath all kinds of fish Angels, permits, baby jacks, sea hourses, blue spotter pipe, baby big eye (actually all the fish are babies. Cuaght lookdowns one year.

this sounds great.i was thinking may when its not to cold and not to hot so the kids can have a good time.maybe the end of may.send me a pm whoever is in and i will do some research of the good spots on LI.robert moses sounds cool if we can find a nice marshy area.
