I've worked out ever since high school except the last year and I can tell you form is the most important part of any type of workout. It doesn't matter how much you are lifting if you are doing it wrong. Use lower weights and concentrate on your form and working the muscle you intend to for that specific movement and you will see results faster than you would think.

Since i am a newbie, finally a topic i can respond to because I know about it...hahahah...
I have been working out consistantly, and those heavy weights are for things like shrugs, squats, (bench presses if your really strong), lunges, rows...Also, if you see anyone using these weights you will notice they probally have the wraps that go around their hand and wrist, so you can actually hold it. No matter how strong you are your still holding the weght with your fingers, and there are not too many muscles in your fingers! Midol knows a TON about working out......(joke)

My wife has been a member of Ballys for over 30 years. Her lifetime membership is about $5.00 a month. She sometimes trains people.
I have also been going for many years but I find it is a lot easier to photoshop muscles on myself than to actually lift weights :tongue1:

I do however warm up by walking up 90 flights of stairs on one of those stair masters which is just an escallator that goes down. I do that every other day then workout with weights. I am obviousely not considered a weight lifter and i don't do it to impress anyone. You can see from my picture that I could not impress anyone if I tried but i am 60 and in the best shape of my life. Well maybe after basic training I was in better shape, but you know what I mean

auto I think thats only if you're in a contract with them last time i looked you had to pay the high price per month for like 3 years then it went down to about $15
I looked in some classified ads like a pennysaver or barter magazine its been 10 years cant remember I found some older lady that wanted $500 for the membership her monthly fee was only $6 (you're allowed to sell a membership once) so i figured it beats me paying at that time $500 per year for the first 3 years and then $15 per month for life .The people at ballys tried to tell I couldn't do it and they wouldn't let me in the gym I had to buy it from them and all kinds of other nonsense but when the new card was sent to my house with my name the first thing I did when i got to the gym was go to the guy that told me I couldn't do it showed him my card and smiled
Hey paul you're too hard on yourself you look strong like a bull If it makes you feel any better my father was very defined and muscular but smoked like a chimney and died at the age of 57 with lung cancer

Just go to the gym and every worry in the world goes away for an hour or so, its good stuff :)

I just worry about going to the gym. Otherwise, I don't have any worries. Maybe I will start worrying that I don't worry. My wife feels that I should worry more. No one ever paid me to worry so whats the point. Maybe if I get some free time I will think of something to worry about. Now I am worried about not having enough time to worry. I worry that no one will read this. Oh No, woe is me
