(516) 803-2300 and ask for Patrick Donoghue (person who heads IO) and complain
(516) 803-2300 and ask for Brian Sweeney (heads e-media who made the ad and sits on Cablevision's Board of Directors and let him know.
Update:
Johnathan Harguss is in charge of marketing for iO and yes other people have complained that it was pretty offensive. Also it was developed by a Hispanic firm that they subcontracted to. Hispanics, FWIW have responded 600% better to it in terms of sales than they have to other commercials that they have run.
They have gotten 30 or 40 complaints to it but 4 times the sales.
They contracted a hispanic firm to do the ad as they are a white company and thus make white ads. They wanted something that appealed to the primary demographics in NYC which are, black, latino and caribbean. They have no idea how to market to those groups. So they hire a hispanic firm and asked for a commercial that would appeal to hispanics and Caribbean peeps. He claimed that they even won an award from a hispanic organization for it.
The original commercial was worse (think telemundo) they toned it down as the director was from Ohio and wasn't comfortable with string bikini dancing women.
That being said, "hispanic firm" just means one principal is latino. I can found a hispanic organization and for $5,000.00 I'll give an award to anything for any reason. I can also get you 14 people for a focus group that will love anything you put in front of them.
PM me if you have something you want to sell to Latinos.
