Man,I need to upgrade my 7600gt's to at least 8600 or 8800's.Tried playing Area51 Blacksite and it ran like a snail and I have a decent AMD FX-55 at 2.6ghz and 2gb of ram but the cards ran slow. Will the cheaper 8600 in SLI be good enough to play these new games?Willing to trade both my 7600's for two 8600's or one 8800gt.:irked:

I played fear with no problem either,it's these new games require demanding power from your system.I have a Antec 550w ps.I don't like overclocking mine.Mine are EVGA.Trust me,I need to upgrade the cards.I bet you can't run Area51 Blacksite either. Was playing timeshift and crysis ok but Jericho gave me a bit of little problems.

i dont run my card oc either, from factory the bfg's are oc'ed, was asking about power supply cause that was part of my problem. fear is the last game i bought cause i am a war craft fan since 94, not WOW though. your running dual cards and still having problems ? you might check the sync on them also. i didnt go with the sli myself, cause plan to upgrade board next year { asus } what i have now and will buy again. also are you ram sticks same brand ? and what type ?

Max out the systems ram first and if you are going to go with a new card the 8800 is better than anything on the market now. And 2 8800's in SLI mode rocks. I wouls also try to go in and shut down as many programs that you have running in the background while you are playing A51 to free up system memory.

yea i know. my computer is almost 2 yr's old, that's why i will update next year, sticking with the asus board. really like it. will never own a dell or the fact any company computer. i like piecing them together. and cost less for what your after. id go one card up, so you have a extra year worth of use :banghead: for the price difference. not to get off subject, but any of you plan war craft 2 or 3 ?

I bought a EVGA 8800 gts 320mb card a few months ago and I have yet to find a game that makes it finch on maxed settings. Was less than $300 off newegg and It's running with the original pentium dual core running at 2.8g and 2gigs of crucial ram. The comp is the original Dell XPS 400 model. That card is worth every penny and the other plus is that it will be a few more years before I "need" to upgrade it unless I just run it SLI. Not worth it to mess around with the smaller cards when you can get one of these for a few bucks more.

i ws also thinking of upgrading my video card, i currently have EVGA 7600 series. I was looking into doing a Crossfire with 2 ati boards. Any comment on the ATI crossfire technology? should i bother or just get one 8800 GTS video card. If i went the route of using crossfire, i need to upgrade my powersupply. Currently playig crysis and Hellgate london.

SLI is better, easier and the Nvidia cards are beating the ATI cards for performance and reliability right now.
