iPhone dilemma

actually from what the CSR told me, when i first activated the phone there is a unique chip inside that is activated only for my account. if anyone tries to activate it it will be flagged as lost/stolen. plus i had a passcode to get into the phone. unfortunately not a lot of people know that the phone gets "bricked" when it's tampered with.

It's just easier for AT&T to kill your phone. For the work it would take to track, find, prosecute, ect, it's cheaper just to write it off. B

my co-worker comes by and asks what credit card i used...i used amex and he reminded me that i had buyer protection on it...i explain my situation to the amex service rep. and after a 5 minute wait she comes back to announce that she was glad i called today as today is the 90th day from the purchase - tomorrow it would have expired. they will be issuing me a credit for the phone.

Use the money Amex that gives you and get the Voyager instead. Better phone, better service and insurable. AT&T/Cingular/AT&T doesn't allow you to insure their expensive phones.

how was the ATT service on the iphone. I had ATT a few years ago and it was absolute crap. I want the iphone so bad but dont want to switch over from verizon, i may get the Voyager instead

cali reef - i have a bunch of docking stations if you want one you can have it free, but you will need the ipod usb cord,

drunktank - i have had zero problems with at&t/cingular since moving from long beach, long island where there had been several service issues; but that was due to the lack of gsm towers.
