I am going through a brain fart.
I am trying to run MAC OSX on my Laptop. For those of you that don't know, this is possible in 2 enviroments either direct boot, or VMware.
I have a dell X300 which I am getting a (PAE) physical address error. It is enabled on my VMware configuration file settings and my boot.ini is set correctly. But before anybody breaks their neck trying to figure this out my model is not on the Hcl list of Osx86. but in my google research I have seen people Have succes with it. Specs are 80gb Partioned 4 times with 764mb ram 1.2ghz centrino running XP.
My other problem is on my E1405 which is on the Hcl. I can't get IIS service installed setup can not or will not install a Dll file called staxmem. It is in my i386 folder and even seen during the install but it will not proceed.. I've tried the first Msdn solution and will now try the second solution or safe mode install.
Any help on the first would be greatly appreciated because I have now given up on that pc and I am currently working on getting the IIs problem resolved. Thanks.

why go mac?

try ubuntu instead.

Ubuntu is next. The reason I am doing this is to make my job easier. My job requires me to troubleshoot internet connection problems. There are certain number of customers that even though you show them it works in a windows enviroment they want you to prove it to them in their own enviroment i.e mac owners. Customers who run Ubuntu/Linux are usually capable of fixing their own connection problems hence I only see them when our connection speeds are not up to their expectations.

So far the IIS problem is still not resolved following all Ms Kb articles instructions on repair. Specs on this Pc are Dell E1405 1.6 core duo 1gb ram. 120gb Partitoned 4 times. Running on Xp media with vista on one of the other partitons.

Reinstall what on boot drive? Xp or OSx. If it's mac Osx I can't install it without losing the boot configuration Xp, vista and dell rescue. If it's Xp it's seems that there is an issue with my build of Xp. It seems that anyone running Media center 2005 will have this issue my only recourse is ruuning a seperate install of Xp on my Dell E1405. Thanks For your input Bad Coffee.

whats the purpose of installing osx on a pc laptop? this will not make ur laptop run better n or faster.
i wouldn't b surprise getting an address error being u r running 2 such diff os on 2 visible partitions.
have u tried using a boot manager or partition magic. if your having problem with hardware compat. i would not even try vista.

You know what I couldn't wait for you to come on a thread of mine and do this.... Like you have the habit of doing, just cause it doesn't interest. You've done this on other threads but you never get called out. I understand it isn't something you understand and so you feel like knocking it... I'm not someone you want to play with Boatkid...
This is not something in my character but I felt it time for someone to call ink on all his little This thread is dead BUll... I can take critics and turn my back on them but I'm entertaining this one. I'll keep this strife in PM if he decides to respond.
