AVG for virus protection

Does anybody here use AVG? This program (free download) was recommended by a self professed computer geek. Anybody have any EXPERIENCE with it? Good, bad or indifferent...........

I have been using it for about two years. It was also recommended to me by a computer geek. :smile:

I have not had any problems with it, and no viruses or the like.

IVE BEEN USING IT FOR ABOUT 3 YR'S DOESNT CLOG MY OTHER PROGRAMS LIKE A FEW OF THE OTHER'S. AND IT'S FREE :hug:

I thank y'all for all your support. It looks like AVG is the winner. And like Rick said, da price is right.

Now, anybody have recommendations for Anti-Spyware? I know AVG has that product too. Just no recommendation on that specific product.

spybot search and destroy, ad-ware se, ccleaner and advance spyware, these are a few programs i use and are free also

I also am a self professed GEEK. AVG is fine. The only thing about AVGFree is that it will not do updates auto, you have to do them yourself. But works fine.

For adware/spyware/malware i use Spybot Search & Destroy and Spyware Blaster. Download them both and make sure that you use the Immunize section of Spybot. They are both awesome and FREE!!!

Weird. That must be new if they added free updates. You usually have to do it manually.... Just make sure that it is not a demo and it is the ACTUAL FREE version.
