Neva had a problem with UPS. I have the same man working for UPS for over 20 years. Always come bt 10:30 and 11:30 and when i use the tracking thing online never have a problem always comes on the day that its posted on the site. Sorry to hear about UPS but i think its the delivery guy and not UPS. And Feddex is so much crappier cause they sometimes leave a package infront of your door and if you live in apt you might never see it again. UPS always requires a signature.

I agree with Mark. My UPS guy puts my packages right on my porch. Never an issue. Actually the only issues I've had have been with FEDEX.

I wouldn't totally blame FEDEX either though. I think it's the individual driver.

I've had many issues with UPS. Since I work nights I'm home all day. I'll be waiting for a package and check the tracking info on-line: suddenly it says an attempt was made and I wasn't home! Bullcrap! I go downstairs - no notice from the driver, which they're supposed to leave. So half the time he never even bothers. Last week I got a new mattress delivered by UPS: one of those "memory foams," so it comes in a reasonably shaped box. He rang my bell first to see that I was home and then when I answered went to take it off the truck. I watch him out the window...the box comes FLYING out of the truck and rolls down the road. So this is a mattress, it won't break. But just the fact that he did that...the pox on him! :letitallo

Generally, though, I think the driver makes the real difference. I used to have huge issues with FedEx as well, but the current driver is not a problem.

They both suck and they are both good. It all depends on the driver. When I get a delivery with either company from the usual driver I never have a problem but when they are on vacation that's when the problems start.:banghead: If once in a while you tip you regualar delivery guy you get good service.

Most of the time it's the driver. Especially if you use Ground. I know for a fact Fedex Ground is sourced out. And since they're independent contractors, they do what they want. I've lost packages because they don't put a signature confirmation on the slip. When you try to file a claim, you can't because you're not the shipper.

I won't have anything delivered to my house ground. I'll pay the extra to have it shipped 3 day select.

I used to work for UPS. I imagine it's the same with every shipping company. It all comes down to the driver, who is the guy handling your shipment. If the driver is good, they'll acutally deliver the package, or actually put a slip on the door.

We ordered a 1400gpd unit from Spectrapure and it came in 4 boxes. UPS delivered 3 and the 4th was missing. We tracked it and saw that "Delivery was refused. Return to sender to be shipped at a later date." ........they had sent our carbon tank all the way back to Arizona and said we refused it. Our driver told us it had probably ended up on the wrong truck and rather than reprocess it he just said we refused it. We called up to complain and the woman on the line gave us so much crap and blamed us for the problem....... We ended up on the phone for 2 hours before they finally figured out what had happened and admitted to the problem. They ended up overnighting us the box at no cost first thing in the morning too. The customer service was so ridiculous.

I must say that it does depend on the driver. My UPS guy has been delivering to my house for over twenty years. He will open our door and leave the package inside if the weather is bad. He will leave packages that require a signature without anyone being home. This guy is so great that when I try to tip him he won't take it no matter how hard I try. Oh yeah, he loves reef tanks and has recently started one. Don't bash the company, bash the driver!
