Napoli behind Brooklyn College off of Flatbush Ave. has the best regular cheese slices around. Best in Brooklyn if you ask me. L&B (now under new owners) isn't as good as it used to be, but they still have the best Sicilian.
Delmar for some reason has gone down hill recently. Not sure why. They were my favorite for slices with in close proximity of my house, but they have declined. So take not-so-good pizza and combine that with the fact that the people who work there are douche bags, you see why I don't bother with them anymore.

Chris

are you out of fr*(&(ing mind!!! That pizza sucks so bad that I stopped going there after my Freshman year at BC. I remember that their pizza was soo chewy that I thought I was chewing bubblegum!!!!

ooohhhh, JP. I used to go over there all the time when I was a cop (I worked in the 70th... unfortunately it is more likely known as the Justin Voulpe/Abner Louima house)
I love that place. I can't tell you how close I was to talking him into selling me the recipe so I could open a place in Sheepshead Bay. You are the only person I know who doesn't like their slices.
The best pizza in Manhattan is in Harlem. I forgot the name. I went there a lot during my proby year in the FD. Queens has Joey's and Rosas. The people who work at Rosas have terrible attitude problems (very popular and the place is always packed), but the pizza is good. A "grandma's sicilian" is a must. But Queens rules all, because as Fred says... the Lemon Ice King of Corona. Nothing better than going back to quarters after a fire and stopping there to cool off.

Did you ever tried Pizza Wagon on 5th right off 86th St? Very good pizza but I have to say that NYC doesn't even come close to Roma's pizza.:D

Patsy's is excellent, though I also like Anna Maria on 1st Ave and 83rd st. There is no good pizza in Queens. There is passable pizza in Brooklyn, though none in Park Slope as far as I can see. Eric is going to say that Albanese on 5th Ave is good, but he is wrong and I've told him so many times.

There is passable pizza in Brooklyn,

You're damn lucky I know you or I'd have Marty Markowitz come over and revoke your Brooklyn privileges. There are eskimos huddled under ice for warmth in a part of the world that hasn't seen sun light in 6 months that know Brooklyn has the best pizza. Brooklyn took a major hit during the suburbanization boom as most of our beloved pizzarias sold and moved to Long Island, Staten Island or Jersey to become places like Umberto's, King Umberto's and of course Prince Umberto's (It's Long Island's "Original Ray's") but no where in the US can you find pizza like you can in Brooklyn. There may be better places but per square mile you don't have the concentration of fantastic pizza like you do here.

Park Slope has two good pizza places but I only know them by the delivery menu.

La Villa is not bad but not one of the two that are good IMO. I ordered a pie from them and it was $29 with delivery, for a regular pie! They sell it as some special tomato imported from italy that only grows on the underside of an albino Tibetan Yack's testicles in March of odd numbered years, blah blah blah the emperor has new clothes. It was a friggin pizza and a decent one at best. I prefer traditional NY pizza.

I should mention that Queens used to have a great pizzaria next to Key Food on 151st and Northern Blvd. It was a woodburning brick oven pizza place and it was fantastic.

Dude Brooklyn does have the best Pizza IMO...matter of fact pizza was invented in Brooklyn by the sicilians*......

Now let me tell you about my bad Brooklyn Pizza experience....I was at Downtown Brooklyn...Court St. to be exact...and i walk in to this pizzaria(italian accent).......so i sit down and ask for a sicilian slice...everything was up to normal eyetalian brooklyn pizza standards until I get the slice...the thing was the size of a small pound cake...all bread and a thin layer of sauce...i dont even remember if it had cheese on it...i was like WTF...so as my world entered a abnormal paradox I start to notice small things like the menu's arent in english...and although the chef is italian he is getting screamed at by what it appeared to be his Jewish Boss....then i look again and their are no other types of foods there like other pizzaria's IE...beef patties or calzones, different toppings..nothing....so i run out the pizzeria and look up and to my amazing its a Jewish Pizzeria.... nothing really wrong with that but the Pizza SUCKED...they should move it to queens if not so already....it was like bitting into a big piece of bread...well thats my experience...

I'll stick with my village pizza, there are 8 places all within a few blocks of me. Joe's on father demo square, which is really a triangle, is the best I think. Then there's a bunch of places with brick ovens, but they are more restaurants than just a pizza place. JP try Bar Piti on 6th ave right below bleecker for that Roma type pizza you want, they do it great there.

and here's something I always found strange, why with the best pizza on earth at our fingertips, would people order Domino's in the city? :banghead: It should be illegal for them to sell pizza in nyc, they should at least have to call it something else.

Oh man is that the truth. It's the out of state people. The same ones that think it's ok to stand in a parking space and say "I'm holding this for someone"

"Listen Opie, I don't know where you're from but this is New York F'in City and if you don't move I'm going to hit you."

Punk ass midwesterners.

I lived in Queens for a long time, Floral Park, Bellerose and Bayside. An even longer time ago I had a cookie route in Queens that took me all over from Cross Bay Blvd to Astoria and everything inbetween. Queens pizza sucks. :)

You NEVER had Sicilian at VIP on Bell Blvd.
You also never been to Porta Bella's or Alba's , both on Ditmas Ave in Astoria.
