There was that a-hole who kept a caiman and a tiger in his Harlem apt. The tiger bit him. He went to the emergency room and ( which is why I call him an a-hole ) he claimed his pitbull bit him. Well those Doc's were a little smarter than him and realized it was no pitbull bite.

Dude I got that phone call that nite cause my captain was working the duty for the boro and I hung up on the cop 2 times. Then I called operations and the cop who answered the phone (the same I hung up on) told me she understood why I thought it was a joke LOL. I think the problem was that it was a 3 bedroom apt, if it were 4 all of the animals would have had their own room and all would have been ok.:lol2:

While I think red-ear sliders can be legally sold, I haven't seen them in Asian markets in years. Its all softshells now. I think it goes back to when diamondbacks got protection. Stores still sold them, and got nailed. It may be that the store owners don't want to risk hassles from selling turtles that could conceivably be confused (unlikely, but conceivable) with diamonbacks. Can't confuse softshells with anything! Take care, Eric
