Go to the beach with bunker and live killies and you will be happier with the out come...

The man is telling the truth. grab some bait grab some beer and a radio . Youll have more fun then going to sheepshead bay fishing. Or contact rich on the board and see what his rate are at least youll come back with some fish ;) his banner is on top

If you have your own surf rods, then the beach is alot of fun and can be very productive ( of course it also depends on the beach and if you know what you're doing ). If none of that applies then a party boat is a great way to have some fun. Brooklyn VI is a good boat. I've also had great time on Capt Dave - its very family friendly. The main advantage of the party boats is that you dont need you're own equipment and you dont need to have experience if you go on the boats that are more beginner friendly. Some of the boat crews aren't exactly customer service orientated. Now of course if you want to shell out the big bucks, you can charter a boat ( Karen Ann is one that advertises on this site ) where you get the most personalized attention and dont have to share the boat with lots of other people but a charter will run you anywhere from $200 - $800 depending on how long, fish targeted, etc. One more thing about the party boats - dont go on weekends because they get crowded and if anyone in the party is prone to sea sickness take a dramamine an hour beforehand. Have fun.

ive never been on capt dave.. but i was on the brooklyn IV bout a month ago and it was pretty good.. we caught a few fish and it was overly packed...

Do you have to bring a cooler with you?? And what else did you bring? and in the ship they provide you with a bucket if you catch the fish right?

No i was just saying that the Capt Dave was family friendly without comparing to the Brooklyn VI. I had a good time on the Brooklyn VI as well.

Just try to avoid going on the weekends on any boat as thats when the drunks and lowlifes ( not that everyone is just that thats when those types show up as well ) tend to come and also the boats are too crowded to really enjoy yourself.

You'll want a cooler to keep drinks and sandwiches. They will give you a bucket or burlap bag when you catch fish but if its during the day and warm, its better to put the fish on ice ( if you have a large enough cooler ). At the least you'll want to get the fillets on ice as soon as possible when the trip is over. Fish spoil REALLY fast especially in the heat, and even when not spoiled the quality of the meat rapidly deteriorates if not kept cool.

I went on Capt mikes with my father over twenty years ago:ANYWORD:. I remember some guy screaming in pain as a hook got embedded in the corner of his eye:eek:. From what else I remember, we caught lots of fish. The crew scalled and cleaned the fish for us. And boy did I get sea sick! My father told me to suck it up........with that, I puked something awful:D
