Collection agency help

My dad, mom, and aunt are all dentists and I can tell you in all seriousness that you should have done something when it happened and you weren't happy, not 3yrs down the road when the collections were involved. It won't go away but if you contact the dentist now and try to work something out the collection agency might not be a problem. The fact is that the dentist loses more money taking you to small claims court to recover the 425 you owe instead of screwing someone else. Medical professionals is not the place to save money shop around and make sure you find a good one or it will end up costing you more than you can imagine in the long run. It's not worth the headache just call the dentists office.

I didn't go to a hack in a trailer and was not trying to save money on this. The dentist came recommended by someone and has a nice office - how is one to know he could do what he did (or didn't do?) I did respond to his bills, but my responses were not to his satisfaction. And his responses were not to mine. So here we are. I'm not sure what else I could have done - either I pay or not. I chose not to because of the bad work he did. But once the work was done - it can't be undone. To be honest, if I do end up paying the full amount down the road I'll do it with some satisfaction knowing he's sharing it with someone else.

A nice office doesn't mean anything and a Dr. who knows what he is doing doesn't screw up that badly. If you are going to fight him on it I would suggest you start by submitting his name to a peer review board so if he is a hack it can be documented by the proper agencies so when you go to court you have more to stand on than "I didn't like his work".
