We went to the beach this morning. On our trip to the beach yesterday, we saw a boat beached in the distance - so today we planned to take the walk to see the boat up close. I have no idea how far it was, but it took about an hour and 15 minutes to get there and back (walking with a four year old and a six year old...)

Here are some pics from the way there and the way back.

thanks for the pics :)

wow that boat is crazy. other than being stuck on the beach it looks like
it's in decent shape. that's going to be a fun salvage job.

This beach is in North Florida, an area called "the first coast" b/c it's the first Florida beaches with access. This beach is in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, close to Jacksonville Beach.

Dee - where are you moving to?

The walk to the boat was a bit much for Sara (4 years old), but we made it. It was gorgeous...

We also saw crabs in the sand digging holes and scurrying into them. very cool. they would not pose though. :)

As far as that boat goes, i don't know if you can see it, but the house "behind" it (or in front of it, depending on perspective...) is HUGE and opulent - unless it's their boat, i imagine they really might be impatient to get the boat off of "their" beach....

(sorry - posted one pic twice - it's one of my faves, tho....)

I don't know how long it's been there. I have some other cool pics of it... here -

Ink - is THAT where you were hiding???? :)

in terms of water color -

tomorrow's full moon, so the tidal pull is very strong right now. there's a storm brewing off shore, so the chop is pretty high, too. the water is usually a lot prettier-looking. hopefully after Sunday, it'll look bluer.

i'll be taking more pics, i'm sure.

the real difference, tho, is in water temp - Coney is probably not much over 60 yet, right? this water is WARM!
