I like this. Have heard about people doing it but never saw pics, I think it's awesome.

It seems like it would be nearly impossible to keep all that acryllic so clear for any length of time. And I am pretty sure that unless there is a strong current through the maze, fish poop will accumulate in some dead spots.

Talk about a flood if that siphon breaks!

Seems like an awful lot of work for a fish treadmill

I also agree with the loads of dead spots in there. I don't see how you can have any flow in the tube. There would have to be flow in only one direction. That would fill up the receiving tank and empty the supply tank, real quickly I might add. It would require plumbing beneath the tanks to run water from the receiving tank back to the supply tank at the same rate it was flowing through the tube.

Like Ardady said, I wouldn't want to be charged with the job of cleaning that tube :banghead:

OK - so after looking at the pictures for the second (and third) time, there are a few inconsistencies - they look like they were taken at different places (one is a coffee shop of some sort, another one is empty and has a fish on a wall, there are doorways, different color paints, etc.

The biggest thing that threw me off finally, is on page 6 of 9, the tube is 2/3 empty...

So - a conspiracy theory develops... Why would anyone try to perpetrate such a hoax on innocent aquarists?

the top portion in the 7th pic is also a little low. It's definitely not a hoax, there's just some explaining as to exactly how it works because if there is air present than it's not a vaccum. There has to be some sort of pump system running it. It looks like an amazing idea as far as a display but if you asked me to clean that I would probably laugh at you lol.

I think it is definitely different locations but I think they are pictures taken of separate setups from the same company.

In order to do it you'd need to submerse the entire "labyrinth" and then get each end into the tank without it leaving water. When this is done on a smaller scale (petland carries them) you dunk a half circle tube into your tank allowing all the air to escape. You then raise it so that it is out of the water but the ends stay submerged. It comes with a holder that holds it up, but keeps the ends under water. If one of those ends comes out and hits air, the tube empties.

Okay enough... I'm a custom furniture builder and have placed fish tanks in some wild places... I was once asked to do something exactly like this and it's not only difficult, it's not practicle as most of you have noticed.. I tried this for 3 months straight and once I got it the amount of pressure on the suspended acrylic only last a week before the seals busted...

I think the we are actually looking at 3 systems. The 2 tanks and the maze thing. The only way I couls see this working for a long period of time is if the bottoms of the acrylics were sealed and just give the illusion of it all being connected.

I wonder if you fill the tunnel independently from the top and then open the ends in the tanks, then put something like an aqua lifter in there to keep it pressurized.
