Hey, all --

Just wanted to give you a heads up that the girls (my daughters) and I are on our way to Florida to visit my dad for a few weeks while my mom is travelling....

The tank will be under the watchful eye of "menchems," who will no doubt post if he sees ANYTHING wrong. Please help him out if he shouts!!!

Thanks so much!!!!

I'll be off line for a few days during the drive, and I assure you, I'll be in serious MR withdrawal while I'm on the road. I'll be dying to graffiti on Wednesday!!!!!

By the time I get home, though, I'll be in such TANK withdrawal that I'll probably just sit in front of my tank for days babbling endless nonsense at all the corals, fish, rocks and equipment....

Take care, all --

Have a great trip!! You can avoid tank withdrawal by having MC take pics of the tank and uploading them here

Telulah is red b/c there was no yellow crayon. Clown is green b/c there was no maroon.

Sara made me add the bubble algae.

She begged me to draw the aptasia, but i drew the line at that request.

she colored the lights purple.

:)

the tank is in our dining room. we miss it most when we're eating.

Hmmmm.... diving. what a good idea. of course, i don't know what i'd see in the atlantic waters of north florida other than lots of jellies. all the same, i brought my fins and mask. they live in my suitcase. i would inadvertently bring them with me if i visited ohio....

we were on the beach today. I promised the girls we'll go to the beach every morning. we go from 9:30 to 11:00 or so - just about the time when our shadows begin to be shorter than we are... and before the beach becomes a madhouse.

this beach is gorgeous. i'll post pics tomorrow. there is a dune separating the water from the parking, and the city was kind enough to build a boardwalk to the beach. so you come up over the dune and suddently see the water stretching out before you forever, sparkling in the sun, with a huge Florida sky stretched out over it... it is such a breath-taking sight. I have to admit, I utter a prayer every single time i see it again - it never fails to give me pause.

in early spring, there was a pod of dolphins here. i didn't see dolphins here today. (dolphins are in pods? i don't remember...) lots of tiny fish rushing in and out with the waves and apple-size jellies today. full moon Saturday, and a tropical something or other happening out there, so the waves are getting choppier and stronger - red flag is flying. but we'll go and play on the sand where the waves come in every morning. Luckily, that's just the right speed for a six year old and a four-year old.

:)

keep cool!
